You want to install Linux Dual Mode operating system in a computer which Microsoft XP already installed. You might wondering if it is possible to run only Linux in a PC for future use. If your computer already has Linux and Microsoft XP to dual boot on the computer system, removing either one of the operating system is easy.
Each of the operating system, typically installed on separate partition within your PC's hard drive. User can actually delete either one of the partition with the operating system you wish to remove. Then, user can recover empty space by growing the remaining partition using a partition program or tool. User would need to make sure the boot loader only have one entry for the remaining operating system. However, if you not fix the boot loader, you will have a choice to boot into the operating system that already removed. If there are different types of dual boot, where one operating system is installed the file system of the other, the procedure is not the same however it is also not a difficult process.
It is safe to have more than one operating system (OS) installed within a computer's hard drive as long as there are enough space for both OS.
